Time to Change Wales is the first national campaign to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems. It is a collaborative campaign between two mental health charities, Hafal and Mind Cymru, and is funded by the Welsh Government and the Big Lottery Fund.

Time to Change Wales Young Champions are volunteers aged 18-30 with lived experience of mental ill health - either historically or currently - who are at the very heart of the Time to Change Wales campaign, challenging stigma in their own communities, online, in the media and sharing their story with other young people.

We provide training and support for all Champions in order for them to be able to share their experiences with other young people at schools, universities and youth groups. They also have the opportunity to deliver anti-stigma talks to businesses and organisations across Wales. Champions can also write for our website, get involved with community projects or help out with events. We have seen this opportunity help develop confidence and skills that have supported Champions in their recovery and careers.

We are carrying out two-day Champion training days in Cardiff:

Mind Cymru
Friday 6th and Friday 13th of July
10am - 3pm
on the 3rd Floor, Quebec House, Castlebridge, Cowbridge Rd East, Cardiff CF11 9AB

Champion training programme:
Day 1: 'Time to Talk' induction day provides Champions with an overview of the campaign and how you can get involved. You will get to meet one of our Champions and hear their story too. We provide you with all the resources you may need for being a Champion on this day.

Day 2: The second day, 'Time to Tell', prepares Champions who want to go in to businesses, schools and organisations to tell their own story. You will also receive guidance on writing blog posts.

Lunch and treats are provided too as well as all travel expenses covered!
