Time to Talk Day

On Time to Talk Day we ask everyone in Wales to have a conversation about mental health.

The next Time to Talk Day takes place on Thursday 2 February 2023.

On Time to Talk Day we ask everyone in Wales to have a conversation about mental health. The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health, by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.

Why talking's important

We know that conversations about mental health have the power to change lives. Our recent research shows how important open conversations in communities are to support everyone’s mental wellbeing.

Mental health problems are more common than most people realise - affecting one in four of us. Yet people are still afraid to talk about mental health, making some people feel ashamed or isolated.

We want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health – whenever they like.

Talking about mental health reduces stigma, helping to create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it.

That’s why opening up the conversation about mental health problems is so important – by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.

However you do it, have a conversation about mental health.
