To celebrate the MRC Festival of Medical Research we are hosting an evening to explore the latest research in psychiatric genetics and battle against stigma.
We are delighted to welcome guest speakers Jonny Benjamin and Neil Laybourn, prominent mental health campaigners.
Our Speakers
Dr James Walters is a Reader at the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics, Deputy Director of the National Centre for Mental Health, and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at the Early Intervenetion in Psychosis Service at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
Jonny Benjamin is an award-winning mental health campaigner, film producer, public speaker, writer and vlogger from London. In the Queen’s 2017 New Year Honors List, Jonny has been awarded an MBE for his services to mental health and suicide prevention.
Neil Laybourn is a public speaker, positive mental health advocate and qualified personal trainer. He recently completed the London Marathon with Jonny, raising over £38,000 for mental health charities.
