Journey of Understanding is a 2 day walk through the beautiful, peaceful Cych and Teifi valleys starts in Newcastle Emlyn and finishes in Cardigan, touching the 3 counties of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
The journey is a celebration of the people of West Wales and its environment, and will promote positive attitudes towards people with mental health problems. As we journey, we meet share and learn from each other and those we meet on route.
The walk brings together people with and without lived experience of mental health problems, including representatives from Hywel Dda Local Health Board who provides services to people in the three counties being traversed. Walkers will stay overnight in a local community hall along the route on Friday. The walk will culminate in a celebration, where participants and their supporters will share their talents in word, song, art and dance.
The event is open to the public on Saturday afternoon and evening. You can join the walk at 2.30pm from Cilgerran Coracle Centre or 4.30pm at Cilgerran Wildlife Centre, or just come along to Cardigan Guildhall at 5pm for the evening event. Transport will be provided back to Cilgerran and Newcastle Emlyn at 9pm.
