World Mental Health Day 2024

This year’s theme is ‘Prioritising Mental Health in the Workplace’. Find out how we are tackling mental health stigma in the workplace below.

This year, the World Federation for Mental Health calls on us to prioritise mental health in the workplace. At Time to Change Wales, we’ve been working to end mental health stigma in the workplace through our Employer Pledge initiative for years.

Over 240 businesses across Wales have already committed to creating mentally healthy work environments through our Employer Pledge work.

What is the Time to Change Wales Employer Pledge?

The Time to Change Wales Employer Pledge is a public declaration that a business wants to step up to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination, along with their dedication to supporting staff wellbeing. It isn’t a quality mark, accreditation or endorsement. There is no test or application. You just have to commit to taking actions that are realistic and right for you that will lead to a reduction in discrimination within your workplace and the wider community.

Our Pledge Employers have access to the Employer Account, a self-help portal specifically designed for SMEs and large businesses. It offers comprehensive resources to support you through every step of the pledge process, from creating action plans to appointing an Employee Champion in the workplace. You’ll also find tools to kickstart workplace conversations and communicate your anti-stigma efforts, including press release templates and internal communication guides to amplify your message across your organisation.
